How to stop phones interrupting dinner, by IKEA

IKEA Taiwan has come up with a design concept for dining tables that forces people to stop using their mobile phones during mealtime.

The idea involves the hotpot–a culinary specialty commonly enjoyed across multiple Asian countries and that is eaten in groups.

In order to cook the food in the pot, diners have to fuel the heat by placing their smartphones beneath the elevated crock.

The fewer mobile phones beneath the hotpot, the weaker the heat generated.
